Cost Guard Station

Herring Cove Coast Guards Station "Pebbles on the shore"

The herring cove coast guard station acts like a relic that washed up on the rocky shore of the cove. The program is separated into four distinct buildings. This was as effort not to create a singular massive structure within the virtually rural herring cove community. The buildings are linked by a public walkway that would become a community gathering point along the mouth of the cove. By welcoming the community into the station I am trying to foster a close relationship between the coast guard workers and the community (neighborhood). This is used to not only integrate the station into the community but also to take advantage of the vast amount of local knowledge of the sea.
